EalionMed Silicone Foam Dressing with gentle border has an advanced triple-layered construction which combines an absorbent hydrocellular pad sandwiched between a perforated silicone gel adhesive wound contact layer and a highly permeable waterproof outer film. This is highly comfortable self-adhesive dressing that absorbs exudates, maintains a moist wound environment, minimizes the pain to patient and trauma to wounds, minimizes the risk for maceration. EalionMed silicone foam dressing is indicated for a wide range of moderate to high exuding wounds, such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, bed sore, foot diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, 1st and 2nd degree burns, traumatic wounds e.g. abrasions and skin tears. The central absorbent pad should cover the wound completely. No secondary dressing is required, but a self adhesive bandage or tubular bandage can be used for better placement of the dressing in extremities. This is waterproof but not shower proof, which means that the liquid will not cross from one side of dressing to the other side but liquid can leak through the edge under the adhesive layer and loosen the adhesion. Silicone adhesive layers are generally water proof and not shower proof. Clean the wound in accordance with normal procedures. Ensure surrounding skin is clean, dry and free from excess hair. Apply the silicone adhesive border to the dry, intact skin surrounding the wound (periwound skin). The central absorbent pad should cover the wound completely.
